Privacy Policy

The Short Version

I don't sell your data. I don't have user accounts. I use basic analytics to understand how people use the site so I can make it better. That's it.

What I Collect

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

I use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit, how they found the site, and what devices they use. This data is aggregated and anonymized. I use it to decide what content to create next and which tools to improve. Google's privacy policy applies to this data collection: policies.google.com/privacy.

Local Storage

Some tools (like the Family Dashboard) save your ZIP code and preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device. It is never sent to my servers. You can clear it anytime through your browser settings.

Product Safety Scans

When you use the Product Safety Score tool, scanned items are stored in your browser's localStorage for your scan history. Barcode lookups go through a Cloudflare Worker that queries the Open Food Facts database. I do not store your scan history on any server.

What I Don't Collect

Third-Party Services

This site uses the following third-party services:

Children's Privacy

This site is designed for parents and caregivers. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact me and I will remove it.

Your Rights

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can clear all localStorage data by clearing your browser's site data for thoughtfulmom.com.

Changes

If I start collecting additional data (like email for a newsletter), I will update this policy. Major changes will be noted with an updated date at the top.
